6/27/2013 · The only videos and instruction I can find on the internet tells how to install a j channel when the ledgerboard is right above the foundation, but we have about 3-4 feet of siding underneath the deck. When the J – channel curves around underneath the ledgerboard, it sends water drippings straight under the siding.
2/13/2020 · Install J-channel underneath. Mark the cuts for siding under the window. Place the siding that has to be notched under the window. When you mark each side, add a ¼ inch to the width. Once you’ve got the siding cut back to where you want, slip in the new J-channel behind the old siding, then fit the casings.
Keeping this in view, how do I attach flashing to ledger board ? Nail J – channel along both sides of the cutout. Then tack the ledger into place with 16d nails. Next, slide drip flashing behind the vinyl so the lip fits over the top of the ledger as shown at right. Install undersill trim along the edge of the vinyl, over the flashing at the top and bottom.
